If you struggle with cellulite on your body, you’re not alone, and you’re not the only one who has a hard time getting rid of it. It’s been reported that about 85% of women over the age of 20 have cellulite. Cellulite actually has less to do with how much you weigh and more to do with how fat is stored in your body. If you’ve been struggling to target cellulite and get rid of it, you may benefit from our medical weight loss program.
For more tips on how to target cellulite through exercise, keep reading to learn more. An added bonus of all of the exercises is that they can all be done at home—so no need for a trip to the gym!
3 Ways to Target Cellulite
1. Stair Climbing
If you have stairs at home or at work, get to climbing! Not only will stair climbing help you target the cellulite on your legs and rear, but it will also help to improve your cardiovascular system. Even if you just walk up and downstairs, you can burn 10 calories for every minute you’re moving. If you decide to jog or run up and down the stairs, you’ll only increase the effectiveness of this exercise to target your cellulite.
2.Squats
When you perform squats correctly, your legs, core, and arms are all engaged — you can even add dumbbells to increase the intensity level. You will not only burn calories with this exercise, but you’ll also increase your muscle mass and target the areas on your body where fat is stored. For the ideal squat, stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. You can choose to hold dumbbells or simply start with your hands by your sides. Your back should stay straight at all times, and bend at your knees and hips as if sitting back in a chair. Make sure you don’t let your knees move over your toes. Bring your arms straight out in front of you when you’re knees are bent and hips are back in the seated position. Then, return to a standing position with your hands back at your sides. Complete one to three sets with five to 15 repetitions each time, depending on your level of fitness.
3. Lunges
For the ultimate in lower-body exercises, lunges target all of the muscles in your lower body, and they’ll help to blast away cellulite. As with squats, make sure your knees never move over your toes. You can either complete standing or walking lunges, so simply start by taking a large step forward and lower your body so that your knees form a 90-degree angle. You can either return to your starting position and repeat the same motion with your other leg, or begin walking in a straight line, alternating legs. Diet and exercise can certainly help you improve the appearance of cellulite.
